Has anyone ever worked as a medical transcriber at home? If so, what has your experience been like and how many hours do you put into the work? Can you begin working from home right after taking the coursework for this field? I am wondering how feasible this job would be with young children. And, does it really bring the salary range that it claims?- These are pretty much a scam! They send you information at a hefty price claiming you can make 1, 000 / day. But who hires you after that? And who's going to pay that much too? Wouldn't EVERYONE rush out and do this if it were really this profitable? Trust me, don't fall for it. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. - This is second hand information - my friend does this. She had to work in the actual office for 6 months before they would allow her to work from home. Her day at home is pretty much exactly like her day was at the office, except she is in sweatpants. She is not able to care for her children while she is working and needs to have someone there to do it for her. I guess her office sends her random emails that have to be answered before a certain length of time before she gets in trouble for being away from her desk. She does make a decent salary, but she is very, very busy. She would very much like to be able to look after her own kids and work - but it doesn't work. Really the only advantages are saving money on gas for the commute and saving money on career type clothing. Which is a lot - do not get me wrong. But if you're hoping to be able to get rid of child care costs, it is not really possible
